Purpose
This page explains how a completed field capture is routed to the correct next step after the site visit.
Who owns it
Dispatcher.
Trigger
A Project Manager submits a completed field capture from /field.
Steps
- Open
/routingto see jobs that have completed field capture and need next-step routing. - Review the PM's measurements, photos, and notes attached to the job.
- Determine the routing path:
- If everything matches the proposal, route the job forward to scope validation.
- If the PM flagged discrepancies (size mismatches, added openings, access issues), route it to the Door Expert or Design Concierge for review before scope validation.
- Update the job's status/assignment on
/routingso the correct team member picks it up next. - Communicate any material changes to the customer if needed, logging the conversation in
/communications. - Confirm the job now appears in the correct queue for the next owner (scope validation).
Done when
The job has a clear next-step owner assigned in /routing and any discrepancies have been flagged to the right person.
Handoff to
Whoever owns scope validation — typically the Door Expert or Design Concierge — see /help/workflows/scope-validation.
Common mistakes
- Routing a job forward without reading the PM's notes, missing a flagged discrepancy.
- Leaving jobs sitting in
/routingwithout an owner assigned. - Not looping in the customer when field measurements change the scope significantly.
Note: /routing is visible to dispatcher, csr, and manager roles. Project Managers can view their own submissions via /field but rely on the dispatcher to route the job forward.
