What it is
The Field Portal is where Project Managers work while on-site: it shows today's and upcoming field appointments, project bundles (openings grouped by project), and any records returned for correction.
Who can use it
Project Manager and Manager. Admin and Executive bypass all page gates.
Note: The page itself checks for project_manager, manager, or executive roles internally — if you land here without one of those, you'll see limited or no data even if the sidebar let you in.
How to get there
/field (overview) and /field/projects/$projectId for a specific project's field record.
Key screen areas
| Area | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Today | Field appointments scheduled for today |
| Upcoming | Appointments in the near-term horizon |
| Project bundles | All projects with their openings and statuses |
| Returned for correction | Field records sent back for fixes before they can be locked |
Step-by-step how-tos
Check today's field work
- Go to
/field. - Review the Today tab for appointments assigned to you or your team.
Open a project's field record
- From
/field, click into a project bundle. - This opens
/field/projects/$projectId, showing openings and their field record status (e.g. ready for review, locked).
Resolve a returned-for-correction item
- Check the Returned for Correction section on
/field. - Open the flagged project/opening and make the needed fix.
- Resubmit for review.
Tips & Warnings
Tip: Field record statuses like locked and ready for review mirror what happens on /projects/$projectId/openings/$openingId/field — use the Field Portal as your daily dashboard, and the project opening page for the detailed work.
Warning: Once a field record is locked, it generally shouldn't be edited casually — treat "locked" as a checkpoint that downstream steps (like reconciliation) depend on.
